Production Worker - Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement, staging, and shipping of products. You’ll work hands-on with materials, contribute to quality assurance efforts, and help maintain a safe, organized, and productive workspace. This is a critical position that supports high-quality production standards and fosters a team-oriented culture.

What You’ll Do

Material Handling

• Read work orders and follow instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, racks, or designated areas using hand trucks, dollies, or other tools.
• Transport materials between storage, work sites, and staging areas to keep operations flowing.

Quality Assurance

• Monitor production for inconsistencies and promptly report any issues to your supervisor.
• Resolve minor production concerns and escalate significant problems as needed.

Operational Tasks

• Safely lift heavy objects manually or using power hoists as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by cleaning machines, equipment, and workspaces.
• Assemble crates for packaging and ensure proper containment of products.

Equipment Use

• Occasionally operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist with loading or moving materials.

Safety and Collaboration

• Adhere to comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training.
• Follow 5S principles daily to maintain an efficient and clean work environment.
• Actively engage in cross-training and team collaboration to enhance productivity and skill development.

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with basic tools and equipment for material handling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and work collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating industrial trucks or electric hoists (preferred but not required).
• Manufacturing experience, particularly in window or door production.

Physical Demands

As a member of our team, you will need to meet the following physical requirements to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the role:

• Standing: Frequently remain in a standing position for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks
• Pace: Ability to work at a steady and consistent pace, with periods of fast-paced activity as needed
• Walking, Reaching, and Handling: Frequently move about the facility to access products, machinery, and equipment
• Lifting: Regularly lift and move items up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Seeing: Frequently read operational and safety documents, differentiate colors, and adjust visual focus as required
• Talking and Hearing: Communicate clearly and accurately with colleagues, co-workers, and customers to exchange necessary information
• Manual Dexterity: Regularly use hand-eye coordination to assemble products and operate machinery with precision
