The Purchasing Manager will plan, organize, and inventory all general merchandise items to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price and that orders are placed properly and received in a timely manner.

What will I be doing?

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Review shipments to ensure products received are consistent orders; Responsible for monitoring grades and quality of products to ensure that they meet the hotel’s standards.
• Communicate with Outlet Managers relative to purchases consistent with hotel needs and specifications.
• Negotiate pricing and purchase goods and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
• Interview, select, train and supervise staff, including cost control and discipline, to ensure the smooth operation of the general storeroom.
• Assist storeroom attendant when needed and conduct month-end inventories.
• File requisitions and assist in stock rotation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Must have full knowledge of purchasing procedures and printing products.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills to order items and track deliveries.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors.
• Ability to apply basic supervisory skills to plan, organize and direct team members as necessary.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to use electronic ordering systems. Ability to operate office machines including calculator/10-key, copier, fax, telephone.
