Lead Candy Clerk

Our busy Morris Plains, NJ store is seeking to hire a FT Lead Candy Clerk for its sweetest Department! This newly hired Lead Candy Store Clerk will responsible for leading the customer experience in an outgoing, approachable manor. Will enhance the customer experience within the Candy Store by providing excellent customer service to all customers/clients/vendors, providing them with their desired selections while answering any questions they may have.

Responsibilities

• Will assist all customers that go to the candy store for purchases and questions
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training staff within department
• Will be responsible for operating a register, stocking product, creating orders for pickup
• Decorating Candy Store to be appealing to customer sales
• Inventory control
• Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 1 years of experience working in customer service for the food industry. Candy Store experience preferred.
• Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner
• Focus on customer satisfaction
• Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages
• Be efficient and organized
• Build good relationships with customers
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
• Keep supplies replenished to minimize downtime
• Build a great rapport with team members and lead by example

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
