We are seeking skilled Material Handlers to join our weekend production shift at our Eden Prairie location.

Our current shifts are as follows:

  • 1st Shift: 6 AM through 6 PM Friday through Sunday
  • 2nd Shift: 6 PM through 6 AM Friday through Sunday

The Material Handler will contribute to the success of our customers by supplying, receiving, moving, picking, and validating materials and products in a safe, LEAN, accurate, and timely manner.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: (Percentages = priority and approximate time focus)

  • Pick and Supply Materials in a safe, timely, and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.

  • Move and store Materials in a safe, timely, and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.

  • Process inventory transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Return to stock "RTS" as per company SOPs

  • Cycle count as per company standards

  • Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.

  • Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.

  • Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.

  • Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Skill Requirements:

Prior Experience:

This position requires at least one-year experience in material and product handling.

Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently. This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge Requirements:

To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of material handling processes and material handling equipment. Person needs to understand or be capable of learning receiving, storing, picking, and moving processes. Position also requires an understanding of auditing practices as it applies to cycle counting of materials. Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication are required. Person needs to be able to use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, scales, banding/strapping pallets, and pallet stretch wrapping machine.

Licenses and Certifications: Forklift license is required and maintained.

Technical Competencies:

  • Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of service or production; follows processes well.
  • Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail.
  • Has a "working" knowledge of personal computer operation. Proficient at Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 or higher.
  • Can read and write in English at a high school level.
  • Strong ability to decipher alpha-numeric numbering sequences related to item numbers and customer packaging requirements.
  • Can read and follow specifications/instructions.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor warehouse, generally.
  • Will be exposed to various fragrances which at times may be at elevated levels.
  • Moving and lifting objects, sometimes 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Able to utilize stairways.
  • Able to respond and adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work in a high paced work environment.
  • Capable of operating various motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
  • Computer literate with basic PC platform and understands basic office software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of MRP / ERP and WMS systems a plus.
