A Buyer in the retail industry is responsible for selecting and purchasing stocks. They analyze consumer buying patterns and predict future trends. Skillsets for this role include excellent commercial awareness, strong numerical skills, high-level negotiation skills, and the ability to understand customer needs and buying behavior. Certifications like Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) may prove beneficial.
